Puff pastries with protein cheese

Those are one of my favorites. As such I have to be careful with them, but I don’t exclude them from my diet completely. On the contrary, I try to have them from time to time, but in a limited portion. The name in English is a bit awkward, to say the least, but let’s assume it’s the closest thing I came up with. 🙂

So, let me walk you through the recipe.

I have chosen this pastry and you can see the macros on the back. It’s clear we have to be careful with the amount we consume in the end. You can see that approximately 1/3rd of the pastries are going to be 400 kcals, even without the stuffing.

For the inner stuff we usually use cheese. But it being too fatty and calorie dense, I have decided to substitute it with protein-rich one. You won’t be able to read the macros below, but I will give you a quick recap: P – 14 gr, F – 1 g, C – 3 gr. That’s pretty much as good as it gets. I add this type of cheese to omelettes and it makes them a lot more satiating.

The rest of the recipe is easy. You roll out the pastry, cut it whatever number of pastries you would like, lay the filling and roll them up.

You put the puffs in an oven, which had been heated beforehand and wait for them to turn golden brown. It took us about 10 minutes to do so. We baked them at 220 degrees Celsius.

Here’s what you can expect. Bon Apetit! 🙂

Not more than 3-4-5 per serving, you know, right? 🙂
